IR Bender IR Control Solution
What it is:
IR Bender consists of an IR receiving base unit that must be placed within the line-of-sight of the IR remote control that is being used. IR blaster dongles are then connected from the IR Bender receiving unit to the IR windows of the home theater equipment that is to be controlled. While the equipment must be within 2M of the IR Bender receiver, the equipment may still be hidden from view and will not be susceptible to IR interference issues.
Solve IR Interference Issues:
With the increase in popularity of Plasma TVs and Electro Fluorescent Lamps, there has been an increase in the noise present within the Infra-Red Spectrum used by most Set-Top Boxes, TVs, and other CE equipment controlled by an IR remote control. UEI’s IR Bender provide a reliable means to control IR equipment within these noisier environments.
Control Hidden Equipment:
With the growing popularity of flat-panel TVs, it has become desirable to have clean look of just the TV on the wall without the associated electronics within the consumer’s view. UEI’s IR Bender enable a standard IR remote to control equipment such as set-top boxes, DVD players, and audio receivers even when they are hidden in a cabinet, closet, or even another room.
