The OFA Smart Control Pro is set up entirely by the My Nevo app, available for free on the Apple App Store or Google Play Store for Android.
To set up the remote to control your devices, you will need to install the My Nevo app. This can be downloaded from either the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. Once downloaded, please open the app and give it permission to use Bluetooth. This is used to communicate between your phone and the remote.
When the app starts, choose the OFA Smart Control Pro as your remote.
The app will ask you to hold down the OK key for 3 seconds. Do this and you should see the blue LED under the TV key start blinking. Then click on Search for remote.
Once the app has located your remote, you can follow the instructions to set it up to control your Audio Video devices – we recommend setting up your TV first of all.
You will be asked to choose from the top brands for your device, scroll to the right to see more or to manually search if your brand is not listed.
Next you will be asked to test the remote with the device you are setting up. Point the remote towards the device and try some keys as prompted.
Note that the keys shown are just examples and may not be present on your original remote. You can try any of the keys on the remote to see if it behaves the same as your original
remote. Once you are satisfied the remote is controlling the device, select “Keys work!”.
The device in question will be set up on the appropriate Device key (in this case TV) and also added to an Activity (in this case Watch TV, as indicated by the TV icon).
Repeat these steps for any other devices you want to set up, such as a Sound Bar, set Top Box etc.
If you have a TV running the Google TV Operating System, for example a Sony or TCL TV, most of the functionality works by infrared (IR). But in order to use voice search, it is necessary to pair the remote with the TV using Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE). To do this:
Firstly install the My Nevo app and follow the instructions to communicate with the Smart Control Pro remote. The app will check to see if your remote has the latest firmware and if it doesn’t it will automatically update the remote. Once this has been done you will be prompted to set up your TV. Select the brand of your TV and the app will ask you to test some keys to see if it works. You can test all the keys on your remote, including for example the Netflix key to make sure you have exactly the right code. If there is a key you have on your original remote that is not working on the Smart Control Pro, select Try Next. Once the keys work, select Keys Work. Your TV is now set up
Once your TV has been set up, the next step is to pair the remote with the TV via Bluetooth. To do this, select the option to add another device, and select Streaming Device. Next select Google TV. The next step is to prepare your TV to be paired with the Smart Control. Please use your TV’s ORIGINAL remote control to do the following:
Select the Setting icon on your TV (generally speaking a on the top right) and scroll to the setting for adding remotes and/or accessory.
• Select the option for adding an accessory – the TV should start searching for a new accessory.
• Following the instructions on the app, hold down the Home key on the Smart Control Pro for 10 seconds, until the blue Stream LED starts blinking.
• The remote should appear in the list of accessories to pair. It may appear as AR (Advanced Remote). If it does not appear in a few seconds, press back on the original remote and search again.
• Once the AR remote appears press OK / Select on the original remote control. The TV should then pair with the remote.
• Once paired, the remote will appear in the accessories list as OFA Smart Control Pro.
If you have an Amazon Fire Edition Television, this can be setup as a normal TV. However if you have an Amazon Fire Stick or Cube, the procedure is slightly different. You will need the original Fire remote control. Next perform the following steps:
1. First, simply turn on your TV and select the input you have the Fire device connected to.
2. Secondly, press any button on the original Fire remote to wake it up.
3. Next, using your original Fire remote select “Settings > Controllers and Bluetooth Devices > Amazon Fire Remotes > Add New Remote
4. Hold down the Home key on your NEW Smart Control Pro Remote for 10 seconds. The remote will appear as an Amazon Remote, now press the Select key on the ORIGINAL AMAZON REMOTE to select it. The OFA Remote is now paired with the Amazon Fire device, but it needs to be added to an Activity to control it.
5. The Amazon Fire will automatically be set up on the STREAM device key, as well as added to an Activity

The voice functionality is available for a device that is running the Google TV operating system. A good example of this would be the Google Chromecast 4K or the Nvidia Shield. It is also possible to use it on TVs that run the Google TV operating system, for example new TCL or Sony TVs. To set up one of these devices, follow the Add a Device feature on the App and select Streaming Device and then Google TV.
If the app keys do not work on your source device (which may be the case if your original remote did not have keys like this), you can create a live macro that will access the app for you.
For example on an Apple TV pressing the Home key followed by two presses of the Menu Right key and then the Enter key, will open Netflix. A live macro will allow you to assign all of these key presses to one of the app keys, so that every time you press it Netlfix will open.
You can have one live macro per key, so three in total. These will work in all modes and change your remote to the relevant Activity.
